Symptoms of Sinus Infections

Often the first symptom of a sinus infection is a headache. The headache and difficulty breathing due to swollen nasal membranes sometimes follow a cold or a bout with the flu. The sufferer may not realize that a sinus infection is causing the symptoms until several days later when there is no relief of the condition, as would be expected following a cold. If symptoms of the cold have not cleared within several days, it may be due to infections in the sinuses rather than complications of the cold.
